In regards to yesterdays pos

Warning: I am breaking a cardinal blogging "success" rule. I am blogging on the weekend. Oh well.
Bryan Jones please forgive me.

I think one of my frustrations yesterday was the fact that I don't completely understand how to use my camera.
I always have a hard time getting good - true-to-life pictures of my kitchen. (Of course I blame the yellow,)
but maybe it has to do with my picture taking skills too

So in an act of desperation and hope today I broke out my manual.
Yes, it was dusty. No I have never opened it. Not once.
Wonder why I get frustrated?

And while the manual didn't explain everything to me, it did help a bit.
So I played around with some settings, put the camera on my new (garage sale find) tripod and went to snapping.

And I am pretty pleased with the results. The yellow is not quite so annoying today.

(By the way, my fab new curtains are a vintage sheet cut ripped in half. No sewing required.)
Just in case you were wondering!

  6. Great kitchen! You know, the time of day has a lot to do with great photos too. I'd try taking the same photo at different times of the day to see what you get. I think evening photos taken in my house are best...

  11. Ha. I laughed out loud, pretty sure Bryan told me the same thing about weekend blogging. I LOVE the new set up, especially the stools around the tall table. Just fab. And I'm pretty sure your wall color is identical to the yellow I used to have.
