curious

has anyone bought this book? i have yet to see a copy in person and am wondering if it is worth ordering? I typically buy my craft books at flea markets and used book stores, but every once and a while I splurge....

just wondering if this one is worth the almost-full price splurge.

or if I should go with this one?

or should I just wait???

thoughts?

  1. I did splurge on Handmade Soirees. It's a gorgeous book (typical of French General) BUT I didn't like it as well as the first 2 (her jewelry book takes the cake for me.)

I'm saving up for the new Notions book :)

    Happy New Year!

  2. I always try the library first (if they don't have it, they'll order it for you)...then decide to buy it or not. I have a French General and a couple of "sew pretty" books and love them all.

  3. I got a new sewing machine for Christmas so I'm curious too!

  4. I usually go browse it barnes & noble first, then come home and buy on the internet.

  5. Don't have the French General one (let me know what you hear), but I wasn't as thrilled with Homestyle book as I was with Tone's other two books. I think I found one or two inspiring projects and the photos didn't inspire me as much as Sew Pretty or the Holiday one.

By the way, I'm reading a great book I think you would enjoy. Foreign Affairs. I don't have the author's name with me, but you can email me if you want it.

  6. You can't go wrong with K. Meng. I took a class from her at Silver Bella in Nov. I think Relyn has a review of this one on her Goodreads. I hope you are staying warm and cozy ~ it freezin here!!!
