forcing fall

So we are only halfway through the hottest month of the year around here, but I am DONE with summer. OK, there may be one more swimming trip in our future but other than that I am DONE.

To celebrate this decision I am currently baking some Pumpkin Bread, and I intend on tucking myself into bed later with warm pumpkin bread, a tiny bit of milk and a good fall episode of Gilmore Girls, perhaps the best back-to-school viewing available.

If it can't be Fall here, it can at least beFall in Stars Hallow and what is better than that?

That's what I thought!

  1. I couldn't agree more!

Whenever I am in the mood Fall I watch You've Got Mail. I love the scene at the fall festival, and all the talk of back to school supplies.
It makes me happy no matter how many times I have watched it!

  2. I LOOOOOOVE Gilmore Girls!!! My niece and I have a running joke, she calls me Loralie (not sure of the spelling) and I call her Rory!
I'm not quite there yet tho. Beginning of Sept. is when I start to feel it.

  3. I'm ready for Fall myself. These hot summer days make me long for a crisp Autumn breeze.

Looking at those sweet little cupcakes make me wish I had all the ingredients to make some pumpkin bread myself. Yummy!!

Here's to those lovely Fall days that will be here soon.

  4. I was totally with ya when you wanted to start thinking about your Halloween party. I have been thinking about Halloween for weeks, but didn't want to admit it. ; ) But, I don't think I'm ready to give up all of Summer, just yet. Geez...I haven't even made your Summer Salad yet. : )

  5. As much as we've enjoyed our incredible summer, I'm ready for fall to filter in.... slowly. But I'm ready for some fall colors AND pumpkin bread!

  6. It's pretty hot here too and I'm also looking forward to fall - those wonderful fall smells, the cute Halloween decor, the crisp fall air. I don't know if I'm ready for summer to be completely gone yet though.
I love Gilmour Girls - what a well written show - I loved the banter! Hope you enjoyed your bread & show last night!

  7. I also love to watch You've Got Mail to put me in the fall mood. I've had gilmore girls season 1 on a constant loop in my studio this week. Maybe it's time to move on to another season in search of a good fall episode.

  10. Sounds like the perfect day time to me. I just broke out my series of Gilmore Girl DVD's and put the first one in last night. It always makes me think, why must all good, no make that great things come to an end?

I'm really feeling the pangs of longing for fall and went to B& N yesterday to look for the fall issue of M.E. Home Companion when I remembered a blog post of yours saying that they have discontinued the magazine. BOO-HOO! That was the quintessential fall magazine.
