Forever Mine

A little show and tell on this Valentines Day...

I just wanted to share some of the great vintage Valentines I received this week from my wonderful blog pal Stacey from Flotsam and Jetsam.
She sent me a wonderful package full of the best vintage treasures after I won her giveaway, and I could not believe my luck!

Some of my favorite items was this collection of Valentines Day items.
I love the little clown Valentine with the inscription on the back. I always am so happy to find vintage cards that are written in and dated. It never ceases to amaze me in this instant/drive-thru/throwaway culture that we live in, when I come a across something that has survived the test of time this way. A small piece of colorful paper that has somehow stayed safe all these years (84 in the case of the clown) and survived in a land where so much is just carelessly tossed to the side, & thrown away.

The little clown is a sweet reminder on this "greeting card holiday" to remember to cherish the little things in life as much as the big ones, and to be careful what I discard carelessly, and to look for the beauty in the simple and sweet as well as the grand and important.

Happy Valentines Day!

I'm so glad you liked the package. The clown is fabulous and the googly eyes make me laugh. Recently, I was blessed to find a miniature one in mint condition; I have it displayed in my cabinet for the season... Have a blessed Valentine's Day!
