Nest Swappin'

Earlier this month I participated in the Sweet Little Nest Swap hosted by Speckled Egg.

Here is the nest I received from my swap partner Gina . The nest originally had red shredded paper in it (which is one of my favorite colors!) But I swapped it out for some of my own Happy~Fetti because it went better with the colors in my china hutch, which is also where I keep my nest collection...

I adore all the vintage buttons and trinkets she tied to the side with various ribbons and trims, and I also love, love, love the glass eggs with the words Be Wise, Be Kind, Be Present on them. So perfect for me and my love of words- on -everything!

The nest I created for Gina was very Avant Garde (am I channeling too much Christian?) and I tried to take inspiration from the colors she said she liked, the art on her blog and the things she collects (vintage buttons, old books, vintage religious icons etc.) For more pictures you can visit the swap group here.

Have a happy Thursday!

  2. Jerusalem,
Thanks for stopping by. I have been remiss about leaving comments lately, but I have been lurking. Say "hi" to your Mom for me.

  3. Nah, Jerusalem, if you were channeling Christian, everything would be black or totally covered with feathers!!!!

    That kid seriously rocks....

And I just love your 'Avant Garde' nest! With that red cross, it's like a little birdie hospital!
