Grateful Days Challenge

Sometimes we all get focused on the yuk in our lives. The stress, the bitterness, the frustration, the mess, the unwanted, the unexpected... We get turned inward, and we forget to look up and out; And we forget about the little (and big) joys that are all around us. The things that we are truly grateful for, even if we lose sight of them sometimes...

So I am issuing a challenge for the next 18 days leading up to Thanksgiving - the Supreme Holiday of Gratefulness - The Grateful Day Challenge. Blogging about the things we are grateful for - no matter how small, odd, random, or big they may be. I wonder if we can do it? And will it change us? Our perspective? Our outlook? Our moods?

Who's with me? Bueller? Bueller?

OK for those of you who need structure, I am going to give you 9 topics to pick from. That way if you do all 18 days you can do each topic twice.

For everyone else, feel free to pull from the list, use the list, or make up your own! But leave a comment here if you are jumping on board (and you may jump at any time! Even if you get here on day 17!)

I am also including buttons for you to use if you want!

  1. Sounds fun, will do.

  2. Jerusalem,
I am going to take your challenge, and I assure you've I've jumped. However, I do have a habit of not landing on two feet. So do be patient with me and know that I have good intentions and will try my darnedest. First, I thank you for challenging me!!!!!!

  3. What a great idea! I'm grateful for you, my friend.

  4. Jerusalem,
Sounds like a good challenge. I will try to do some on your list.

  5. I am in for at least some days. I will be away for the next 5 days, but will try to jump in when I get back. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, food, family, friends and probably some football in the background.

  6. Great great idea. Complaining can be so satisfying sometimes but so exhausting too. This will be a great way to regain some perspective.

  7. Hi Jerusalem!
I'm jumping into the challenge! I'll blog about it tomorrow & post my first grateful thoughts...
    Cool idea!

  8. Great idea! I'm in...

  9. This is a great idea. Count me in!

  10. I have to admit, I was cuaght in the blog maze and can't remember where I found you... but it is a true blessing. God always knows what we need, and as my last blog entry on my blog listed a very sad event, I am soon reminded that God is good and there is so much to be truly grateful for. I have been making gratitude journals which I haven't listed yet. I know that during times of loss and sadness there is no greater cure than the wonders of God's ability to show us not what we've lost, but what we have.

    Thank you,
I'll be back soon, and I hope it's okay that I feature you in my blog.

  11. ooh, what a great idea...

  12. i'm a little late, but count me in
