But first I want to tell you a little story... and then I will leave you alone to browse.
When I branched out on my own a few years ago I had to choose a name for my design business. I chose (for better or for worse) the name Storia di Vita Design. Storia di Vita means "Story of Life" in Italian (or something close) and I use the "storia" part for my craft art item line, Storia HOME and vintage goodes on etsy Storia VINTAGE. The name of my corporation (yes, I am Incorporated, which sounds funny to say out loud,) is Brown Bag Vintage. I am in the process of re-designing my main website and when I do it will reflect these 2 titles a lot more - both stylistically and content wise.
I truly believe that all good design (of any kind) is just another form of Storytelling. And that is what I try to do in all aspects of my work - whether it is in my design of Banners and Gift Cones, my Interior Design Consulting or Web Design projects. I just want to tell stories - real or imaginary - and bring a little loveliness into your life and mine.
This philosophy has always been in the back of my mind, but this is the first time I think I intentionally created items with the storytelling theme in mind, which is why so many items are literally torn from pages of old books. It is why I am drawn to letters and words, and old vintage things. They have a history and a story to tell. You will also see lots of shredded brown paper which represents Brown Bag Vintage, and anyone who has ordered from me in the past 3 months has received their banner in a brown paper bag....
So here is a glimpse into my Christmas this year - a Very Merry Vintage Christmas, Storia Style!
PS- I left out up-close pictures of Jeanetta's art and items because I wanted her to get to show off her goodies on her blog, but they are also very story driven and fell right into place, in a our Storybook Wonderland! (And are selling like hot cakes I might add!)
